The second man…i
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam a life-giving spirit. The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man. (1 Cor 15;45:49).
Implying that there is no other man in between Adam and Christ. He is the redeemed man and the perfect man, the first born of many brethren. Those born of him are perfected in him, by him. Christ in us is the perfect man. The first man earthly the second man is heavenly, born again of incorruptable seed. born unlike Adam who was born of the dirt, we are born from above, born not of flesh and blood but water and spirit (Jn 3;5). We like him enter this world as a helpless babe but when we meet our new father, Jesus, we are reborn as sons of God, corruption putting on incorruption, born from above not of the will of the flesh but God (John 1;13: John 3;5: 1 COR 215;47: 1 Peter 1;23).
So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. (NASB).This verse tells us of the Godhead…IN him dwells the fulness of the godhead, a reason why this verse reveals that Jesus is now both the heavenly man and the “life giving spirit”… The LORD is the spirit. Who is the Holy Ghost? the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Cor 3;17). secondly these scriptures also reveal the new mans nature. we who were “born of the dust” are now “born again of God!”
