Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord
Reading: Psalm 33

1.As Believers we are to obey those who have the rule over us
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
(Heb 13:17).

2.As believers we are told to work for our wages and contribute to society.
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. (2 Thess 3;10).

3As Christians we are admonished to respect civil authorities
Therefore it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes. For the authorities are God’s servants, who devote themselves to their work. 7Pay everyone what you owe him: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due. (Romans 13:6,7)

4.As believers wea re to worship only one being
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10)

5.There is a law above all law
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they. (Ecc 5:8).

6.As Believers God will bless those who are industrious and honour the Lord
The LORD will make you prosper abundantly—in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land—in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. The LORD will open the heavens, His abundant storehouse , to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but borrow from none. The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward, if you hear and carefully follow the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am giving you today.…(Deut 28:12).

7.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord
18And today the LORD has proclaimed that you are His people and treasured possession as He promised, that you are to keep all His commandments, 19that He will set you high in praise and name and honour above all the nations He has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised. (Deut 26:19).

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. (Psalm 33:12)

NOTES:
Yes God promises to bless a nation when they make him their God.
God desires to  prosper the people who trust in him
In an age where socialist and community governments seek to crack down on religious activities by Christians. the rulers fail to see that Christians are not anti-government but rather are set by The LORD in a nation to be a blessing to it and to enable it to prosper.
The greatest end of government is the well being of its citizens. law ceases to be functional when the law deregulates the well being of the people.
The law is valuable only for the work it does. God is above all earthly rulers and his law above all earthly laws. Even rulers should serve the Lord and when they do he God makes that ruler and his nation prosperous. There are however men who make men accountable to them in religious matters, they put themselves in the place of God (2 Thess 2:3 and 2 Thess 2:4). The Lord God tells us not to call these men masters. ‘Neither be ye called masters for one is your Master, even Christ’ (Matt 23:10).
The Christian community are among the biggest contributors to the needy. the the homeless and the poor, they are a big asset to any nation. they don’t threaten others with war yet themselves are hounded by religious fanatics, haters of their God and faith. governments have a responsibility to protect them and grant them free course in their duties towards God and government of man

Psalm 33; AMP:

The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, And all their host by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as in a wineskin; He puts the deeps in storehouses. Let all the earth fear and worship the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD nullifies the counsel of the nations; He makes the thoughts and plans of the people ineffective. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The thoughts and plans of His heart through all generations. Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favoured by God] is the nation whose God is the LORD,
